The New Jersey Nets played their final home game on New Jersey soil against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Due to the owners decision to move the Nets back to New York, they will be relocating to Brooklyn and will be housed at the newly built Barclays Center which means they’ll be renamed to the Brooklyn Nets.
The move is a big shame as their current home, the Prudential Center, is only 15 minutes away from our apartment so over the last two years we’ve managed to get to quite a few games. Since going, we’ve noticed a few characters/show offs at the matches, and an ever present is this chap who always wears brightly coloured silk shirts and dances in the stair well, the cameras always pick him up and he was there in full force on Monday night:
Unfortunately they lost the match but the atmosphere was great and a lot of the old players (like Kenny Anderson) came to see them off.
Win or lose, forever a Nets fan! And the Prudential Center will no longer be home to dunks like this anymore:
