I had a friend in town last weekend and one thing we planned was going to see some sport be it Basketball or Ice Hockey. Unfortunately all of NYC’s big teams were either playing away or not at all, typical!
However, I’d recently read an article in the New Yorker that had mentioned a college team in Brooklyn – the St. Francis Terriers – that were playing in the NCAA and doing pretty well. They were playing Sacred Heart College on the Saturday so we decided to take the R train into Brooklyn and check out the game.
It was a great experience and amazing to see the support that was there what with all the ‘Lin-mania’ that’s going on at the minute. Tickets were 10 bucks and you could sit anywhere…perfect.
The game was pretty open until the final period when the Terriers took it to the Sacred Heart and ended up winning with 1 second on the clock 58-56. Pictures were taken with my mobile so apologies for the quality…GO TERRIERS!
